Mother is doing well. She has kind of plateaued and is still not walking without assistance. However, she usually feels well and has little pain.
That actually sounds like a pretty good report. I hope she will continue to become stronger as the days go by. It seems to be the season for hips — an 89 y/oacquaintanace in Santa Barbara had a hip replacement some time ago — last week she fell in her room, and she had surgery yesterday!
I think Mother’s greatest fear is that she will fall again.
I can cdertainly understand that — and she’s wise to listen to that fear, at least for a while.
