I always enjoy this auction, because it’s when some of the really interesting items are sold.
I would have loved to own this hand carved bird by Ned. However, the bidding quickly went to $1,000.00 and eventually sold for $2,200.
This duck brought $1,300.00.
The chickadee brought $950.00.
Enjoy some of the other items for sale.
One of these years I may buy one of these monkeys made by our friend Lois Minnich.
Sometime when I think it fits in our budget. 🙂
I like this picture of a few of the auctioneers.
I took it shortly after these guys had taken a break and were sitting behind me. When they were back on duty, the auctioneer in the black shirt discovered that he was “tied” to his chair. There was a cushion on his chair that had tie loops on it – to tie to the chair back. One of the other auctioneers tied one of the loops to his belt loop while the other loop was still tied to the chair. 🙂
After untying him, I decided that boys never grow up!
Someone did a great job in recreating an old velocipede.
Our friend, Irwin Groff, (a retired trucker) made this beautiful rig.
It brought $2,050.00
This is how many people – especially the volunteers – felt by the end of the day. 🙂
Tomorrow I will begin to feature the quilts.
Those carved birds at the beginning of this post are beautiful — but the prices seem very high — a good donation to the relief fund! And the velocipede and the car carrier are also pretty nice!
The prices are very high – but apparently there were at least two people who wanted them. They are amazing creations.
