After seeing as many carnival activities as we could handle, we went to the animal barns.

1 (10)There were several activities going on outside the barns.

3 (1)Old equipment display.

3 (2)During a heavy rain, we went inside this show barn to see what was going on.

There was sheep herding competition.

3 (3)It was interesting to watch the difference between an old, well-trained dog and a new one that was being trained.

4It was still raining after we watched several sheep herding competitions, so we went next door to the horse barn.

5 (1)We have a few granddaughters who would have enjoyed this barn.

5 (5)When the rain stopped, we went outside to watch a few working horse demonstrations.

5 (10)We had a delicious lunch in one of the many sit-down restaurants on the grounds.

We chose one inside the agriculture building.

5 (11)Then it was time for the afternoon rodeo in the Grandstand.

5 (12)The first event. I think it is called saddle bronc riding. Can you see the expression on the rider’s face? 🙂

5 (14)When we saw him hopping on one foot, we thought he was injured, and then saw that his boot had come off.

5 (17)It had stopped raining by this time, but we were still glad that our seats were under roof.

5 (18)This looks like it would ruin your back for life.

5 (19)More rodeo pictures in the next post.
