We are birthday friends from many years ago – Marcy, Joanne, Cookie, and me.

Marcy, Joanne, and I became friends in high school, and Cookie joined our birthday group when she and Gene were a young married couple – seeking a relationship with the Lord.

Marcy was Cookie’s first contact because they lived close to each other – and it was through that relationship that Gene and Cookie accepted Christ into their life.

Because we all have birthdays in February, we take turns hosting a celebration meal, sometimes close to our birthday, and other times – like this year – it was much later.

We don’t remember when or how it got started – but we know our children were quite small.

It was my turn this year and I just felt like waiting until it was warmer outside.

We always exchange small gifts and each of us received a red geranium from Cookie.

Joanne gave us Natures Pearl body lotion and gardening gloves, and Marcy’s gift was Farmhouse liquid soap.

I love spending time with friends.
